What is Tonies?
We know you have questions about Tonies!
What Are Tonies For?
Tonies are more than just a fun toy. They keep children away from screens, especially devices like mobile phones and tablets, which significantly affect children's development by limiting their imagination and hindering their ability to think.
With the Toniebox, you can enjoy screen-free fun, listen to music and stories, improve language skills, add lecture notes, and further develop your imagination with our books that accompany our audio stories.
What is a Toniebox 2?
The Toniebox 2 is an audio player that plays songs and stories using Tonie audio characters and unlocks interactive stories, quizzes, challenges, and more with Tonieplay Games.
Will our Tonies still work on the Toniebox 2?
Yes, they will! Your favorite Tonies will continue to work on Toniebox 2 in the same way they do on Toniebox 1.
Will new tonies® products work on the Toniebox 1?
All Tonie plays work on Toniebox 1 and Toniebox 2, but Tonieplay games only work on Toniebox 2.
What is Tonieplay?
All Tonie games work on Toniebox 1 and Toniebox 2, but Tonieplay games only work on Toniebox 2.
Which age group is the Toniebox 2 suitable for?
The Toniebox 2 is approved as safe for ages 1 and up. There are Tonie figures and Tonieplay games to entertain everyone for years to come.

What is Mirumi?
Robot Accessory That Responds to Sound and Touch: Mirumi
Mirumi is not just an accessory, but a tiny robot friend that helps reduce user stress.
Developed by Yukai Engineering, Mirumi has been introduced as a furry mini robot bag charm that responds to sound and touch. Going beyond being a fashion accessory, Mirumi is positioned as a "feeling" companion.
Mirumi, brought to life by Yukai Engineering, specialists in "lifestyle robots," resembles a mix of a small yeti, an owl, and a Sesame Street character. The expression on its face is described as a "Gen-Z look," referencing today's youth. Its arms can tightly wrap around most bag straps, umbrella handles, belt loops, or straps; its size is small enough to be comfortably held in hand. Its outer surface is covered with soft, furry material resembling a teddy bear, in pastel pink, gray, and beige tones.

A curious glance, a tiny spark of happiness
The main feature that makes Mirumi different is its interaction with movement. Motors inside its body allow it to tilt and turn its head. These movements are based on three main inputs: touch, sound, and internal actions. The sensor on its head detects when the user caresses it; two separate sound sensors detect nearby conversations or noises. Thanks to its neck motor, Mirumi can look up, sometimes averting its gaze and then turning back, giving the impression that it is observing its surroundings.
Behind Mirumi's seemingly spontaneous behaviors is a special algorithm developed by Yukai Engineering. Drawing on experience in social robots, this system selects motor movements without repetition, making reactions appear natural. The algorithm also triggers "random behaviors," allowing Mirumi to move on its own even without external stimuli. Mirumi does not have a screen; it expresses its emotions only through physical gestures such as shaking, tilting, and turning its head, conveying expressions of excitement or interest.

Mirumi, powered by an internal and rechargeable battery, is charged via a Type-C input at the back. A "natural" signal has also been conceived for low battery status: Mirumi starts to slowly shake its head as if tired after a long day.

The goal is for this small robot, which notices its surroundings and turns to look, to create an unexpected moment of joy when its shy gaze meets the user, much like a baby suddenly looking at you on a crowded train. Furthermore, Mirumi aims to make not only its owner happy but also those around it; for example, if it's attached to your backpack and turns to look at someone behind you on the train, it can become a pleasant surprise for them too.
